Election for the sami parliament 2001.

The results are in!

Final result of this election:



• SSR/Sámiid Riikkabellodat. 32% of the votes, 10 seats, +4 from last election. (~National swedish sami organization)
• Skogssamerna 13% 4 seats, -1. (The forest sami's)
• Min geaidnu/Mijjen geajnoe 6% 2 seats, -1. ("Our path")
• Laahkoe 2.5% 1 seats, new. ('We are' "Relatives")
• Total 17 seats.
  The former native government:
• Renägarförbundet 6% 2 seats, -2. (~Reindeers owners society, organization with same name)
• Samerna 12% 4 seats, no change. (The Sami's, organization with same name)
• LSS 4% 1 seat, -2. (National union of swedish sami's, organization with same name)
• Jakt och fiskesamerna 21% 6 seats +3. (Huntiting and fishing sami's)
• Mii Saamit 1.6% 1 seat, no change. ("We Sami")
• Total 14 seats.
  Others:

• Saemien Eatneme 1% No seat, -1. (Sami nation, organization with same name)

  New chairman

  The new chairman for the Sami parliament in the Swedish part of the Sami nation will most likely be Lars-Anders Baer. The first session will be held in the municipality of Arvidsjaur 18-19 december, 2001.
  Note: Ive taken the liberty to assume that Sakka Stångberg and her party Laahkoe will take part in the new native 'government' though it isnt certain. Yet in the unlikely case she wont, it wont change the result of the election.
