| Valsjöbyn, close to the Hotagen mountains is a place
with an abundance of beautiful and untouched nature, and with an interesting
culture. You won't find any large themeparks here, but an unspoiled nature
untouched by the ravages of the industrial age. |
Naestie tourist center is the first Sami owned hotel in Sweden, the business is fully owned and managed by indigenous personell. Our motto is to "use but not consume" -an philosophy that will preserve the Hotagen area as one of Europe´s last wilderness areas. |
| Together with our guides you might be taken on guided tours to good fishing locations to catch salmon trout and alpine char. Go on a daytour to view the scenery, or for a horseride. The culturally inclined could choose the tour visiting relics from the ancient hunting culture, old native homesteads, and see other signs of the Sami's presence that goes farther back in time than recorded history. | ![]() |
